At Moving Forward Wellness, your therapist will work side-by-side with you to address your specific needs and concerns and come up with an individualized solution and plan.

We use specialized manual therapy techniques to reduce pain, swelling, scar tissue and fibrosis caused by mastectomy, breast reconstruction, lymph node dissection, lumpectomy, chemotherapy and radiation therapy. Over the years we have found that protocol-based therapy that focuses on diagnosis does not work to address the needs of the individual.

We do things differently

We are here for you, not only to help you feel better physically but also to support and guide you during this extremely trying time in your life.

At Moving Forward Wellness, you will not be seeing a therapist that was working on a running injury prior to your appointment and needs to switch gears in order to discuss cancer treatment or lymphedema– our therapists are focused on situations similar to yours all day, every day.

Why is that important?

The appointments you have with your doctors can be stressful.  Your diagnosis and all of the new medical terms that accompany it are anxiety-inducing and you will often find yourself forgetting some important details.  You may not be able to recall the name of the exact surgical procedure you had or fully understand the type of medication that you will be starting in a few days or that term your doctor used on the last of your MANY appointments.

That’s alright! At MFW, we are familiar with your diagnosis and the treatments that are implemented for them.  We have had the privilege to work with many individuals that have been exactly where you are right now and we understand what you are going through.  We are familiar with common and alternative approaches and are happy to discuss them with you.  After your initial appointment, you can expect to see and feel some relief as well as having the peace of mind that you have come to the right place!
